During the event, the dancers get the chance to learn a line dance that the morale captains teach, which is really a fun and exciting motivator. Dancers also get the chance to meet the miracle families from Mercy Children's Hospital and play with them during the duration of Dance Marathon. Dancers can also hang out with their organizations, meet new people and enjoy the entertainment provided. The reason dancers are on their feet for so long is to show part of the pain that is experienced by the children we raise money for. It is one of the most rewarding feelings being a dancer for Dance Marathon and making miracles happen!

Bikers experience an unforgettable journey! Bikers chose to take on a different element in order to be part of Dance Marathon. They bike! Being a Biker for "Bike for Tikes" means participants depart from Bowling Green the Thursday before Dance Marathon and travel to Cincinnati. This is where they will begin the 180-mile journey back to Bowling Green, all on a bicycle. They will arrive back in Bowling Green on the Sunday of Dance Marathon, before the closing ceremonies.
For more information, please download and read the 2010 Biker Handbook. In order to perform well and stay strong for the kids some training is recommended before hand. If you have any questions you can stop by the Dance Marathon Office or e-mail bikes4tikes@gmail.com.

If you want more information about becoming the liaison between your group and Dance Marathon (known as a Dancer Group Representative, or just DGR), please download and read the 2010 DGR Handbook, or feel free to contact the Dancer Group Representative Chair, Mary Scott Clark at marysc@bgsu.edu.

If you want to be a part of Dance Marathon but are unable to comit to the entire 32 hours, or to raising a large amount of money, concider being a security guard. These are the individuals who make sure that everyone involved with DM is staying in the approved area of the rec center. Security guards only have to raise $10 and only need to be at the event for 6 hours but of course are encouraged to raise as much as possible and can stay as long as they would like. This is a great way to get involved without a huge commitment!
For more information, please contact Nikia Washington at nwashin@bgsu.edu.
